In the 70's there was a commercial about this. It gave my dad another excuse for his beer belly. Mom was not amused. Keeping it honest here.

Kind of along the lines of “not your Dad’s Oldsmobile”. BUT I sure liked my Dad’s 66 and 72 (GT) Olds Toronados! Unmatched even today. Just like the 69 Safari I have now that he got new so long ago - and we pulled it with those Toronados.

You'll know AS is catering to the "fat" demo when they add a double door and start making double wides.

I'll just note that Airlines, ballparks, and old theaters have had to *ahem* upsize their seats to accommodate the modern "average" American.

I do know AS is trying to cater to Fat Cats; consider: the ever increasing list prices, the uber-expensive Land Yacht, (did anyone buy one?) the MB Class Bs and now B+ Atlas -- hey weight a minute, the Atlas is physically bigger, larger, fatter .... uh-oh.

Hi, we picked up our brand new 2005 Safari in September of 2004. This is our one and only Airstream. We do not plan to go up, down, or sideways. At 72 we are not selling this trailer. I have a perfect six pack protected by 15 pounds of premium fat. We are not rich, but we never made payments for this Airstream.

No no, the skinny people are mostly to blame. When an inverter generator weighs 50% of your body weight, or that heavy, deadweight hitch you lift onto the end of your TV... well you get the picture.

Next, it’s the short people... they buy their trailer in December, never needing to open the fantastic fan located on the ceiling. then, July heat comes... they then, in vain, reach for the vent fan switch and they can’t because they now realize they are too short to own an Airstream! For those who are sensitive, or need outside air vented inside, this can be a demeaning life event.

The above scenarios coupled with family of origin issues, you have the fated “time to sell” trend you are now pondering.

I recommend weight and height minimums on potential Airstream Owners.
Regarding age, 60 is now the new 45. That’s why social security is going broke.
Good night.

That is not so.
I have owned boats for 25 years. Love spending time on the water. I also owned a vacation home on a place I wanted to retire to which I did. Worked hard had some good oportunites.
I came to America at age 16 not able to speak one word of English.

You guys are too funny! But I do believe the OP didn’t mean lbs, but rather fat in the wallet. After getting a 23CB I’ve slimmed down in my wallet and I’m carrying a few extra pounds in the rear. Honey does my AS make me look fat!

I am old (72), fat (310 lbs), and I love my Airstream and I plan on using it as much as possible while I can.

Land yacht was epic when we were looking. We decided to settle for the 30 classic
