No issues of note, no code brown incidents, just happy smooth towing. Ignored the dire warnings of doom and gloom from the HD pickup truck crowd, tow at reasonable speeds (55-65mph), and looking forward to many more years of happy and comfortable full-time living.
We’ve also run into a few people in our travels also towing with Rovers:
- Crested Butte: L405 Range Rover LWB Supercharged towing 27’ Airstream
- Durango: L494 Range Rover Sport Diesel towing 25’ FB Airstream
- Sedona: LR3 towing 23’? Airstream
- Encinitas: LR4 V6 towing 25’ Airstream
- Malibu: L405 Range Rover LWB Supercharged towing 27’ FB
And we’ve seen other ‘non-traditional’ tow vehicles:
- Infinity QX80 towing 27’ FB
- Mercedes R320 Diesel towing 30’ Classic (was clearly setup at CanAM)
- Hummer classic here at Malibu towing what appears to be a 27’

I came across your post from a while ago. Love that combination!
I have a Bambi 20FB on order and am researching tow vehicles. I was seriously considering RRS, but the tongue weight specification on their website is a measly 330lbs. Yet, I see many people like you who tow with a LR/RR with no issues. What has been your experience since this post? How did you get around tongue weight specification?
BTW, which App are you using for tracking your trip in that screenshot?
