Starting On A New Adventure

So my wife and I have been looking to get into a vintage Airstream for a while and finally pulled the trigger. We picked up our 1976 Argosy 24 this week and will be embarking on the full restore. We hope to move into the Airstream full time as soon as the project is complete. I have been on YouTube and digging through the internet a ton for information about the road ahead but was wondering if there were any good books that I should pick up to help along the way?

Cheers,

KennedysAS

Welcome to the AirForums.

There are a couple of good books on the care and feeding of Airstream trailers.
https://www.amazon.com/Airstream-Lif...ords=airstream
https://www.amazon.com/Newbies-Guide...3046015&sr=1-4
https://www.amazon.com/Long-Honeymoo...ords=airstream
https://www.amazon.com/Collected-Adv...res+of+tin+hut

But not everything about full-timing is unique to Airstreams. There are many books on RVing in general that may be of interest, covering topics ranging from full-timing, to RV lifestyle in general, to campgrounds (national park guides, "Camping with the Corps of Engineers," etc.) to maintenance (most appliances in an Airstream are also found in other brands), to humor ("RV Having Fun Yet" is one of the few paper books left in my much-reduced post-Kindle home library). Browsing the aisles at Barnes and Noble for paper books, or Amazon.com for Kindle books or BN.com for Nook books will yield a whole treasure trove of RV-related literature that may be of benefit to you.

And if you don't mind thinking outside the box, a number of books on sailboat and powerboat maintenance (the "Boatkeeper" series of books has a lot of do-it-yourself projects that can be adapted to Airstreams) can also be beneficial to RVers. For example, a book on sailboat maintenance is where I learned the trick about using automotive spray wax in my shower stall once a season to make daily post-shower cleanup easier.

Thanks for taking the time! This list looks like a great place to start and should keep me busy for a while. Much appreciated!!!
