I acquired a 32 foot 1974
Sovereign in 2015. The interior was a combo of Marikesh and Circus. Little did I know until it arrived it was rife with carpenter ants and vermin. So I bit the big one and proceeded to gut it.
Over time, I learned a lot. Time and budget go hand-in-hand and I can only work on Lucy weekends. No full-Monty, but I repaired the sub-floor and stripped the interior down to the shell.
Lucy is permanently located so not worried about weight issues. The new flooring is white oak and the walls/ceiling are 1/4 Inch plywood. There are 2 layers of prodex insulation spaced 1/2 inch, respectively, from the shell.
I am certainly not done - figure it'll be a few years. But I am happy where I'm at.
