I posted this in the general exterior forum, too, regarding a leak.
I have the fiberglass vent cover which was thrown into the deal with the A/S (!), no gasket, no idea on how to install it-other than the old one appears to be attached with screws.
All evidence points to a leak originating from this stove vent to the right of the sink. Water seems to be dripping through wood over sink/stovetop and to the floor.
There may be another leak involved, too-but the replacement of the vent cap is the place to start.
The good news is I wanted to put in Pergo instead of carpet...but now I really need to keep the water out first.(already read that forum and threads!)
John is right. My vent cover is simply bedded in sealant, apparently the sealant is vulcum.
The day I bought the trailer, it rained and there were drops of water on the countertop. I put it on the "fix-it" list and the tech told me when I picked up the trailer that he had sealed a gap in the caulking. It hasn't leaked since.
