I haven't tried it, but I did think one might find a "borescope/endoscope" handy. If you need to snake a wire, why not use a camera to navigate it? They're very inexpensive. USB connection.

This doesn't work with iPhones, per the Amazon description. It looks useful but there are many who say it didn't work for them, mostly on their phones using the micro or USB-c connection because of a poor connection. It also works with a standard USB connection.

What was your experience? Do you recommend?

Replacing rear roof vent with fan

Thanks for all the info. Went with a Maxxair deluxe-great unit. This wasn’t a project for the faint of heart. The big challenge was getting the old vent out. A/S secured it good plus years of sealants. We were unable to pry it up because there was no frame under the skin of the trailer. Once it came out the hole had to be enlarged. We also built a frame for it. Once it was installed the next problem was power. Even though a light was only four inches or so away a rib was in the way. After drilling through and fishing a wire the rest was easy.
Very glad we did it. Now there is airflow in the back. Remote control is the best.

I am presently looking into doing this in my 1949 Liner. There are 44 rivets holding the old vents in, plus whatever sealants. 22 of those rivets are the only thing holding two pieces of roof framing in place. Last night I riveted replacement framing into position. Today I hope to drill out all those old rivets, weather permitting, and put a Fan-Tastic Vent in.

A word of caution. Replacing the rear vent with a fan is pretty much a piece of cake. However replacing the front vent with a fan can be a problem. All the wires in the Airstream wrap around that vent.
