Where can I get these rivets?

I'm replacing the latch on my AS screen door. Airstream told me I should use an AD48ABS rivet for this job. But when I search for that item on Woodland's website I only get AD45ABS rivets.

Anyone know where else I can find these?

I would guess it's an 1/8" rivet. I'd just use an aluminum rivet from the hardware store. You can buy an assortment of sizes. Extra rivets are always handy.

I just looked at Hanson Rivets & Supply Co. They have a couple of choices.

Fastenal store is another rivet source. But as CRH says -it's likely 1/8". Available many places.

I just looked at my screen door latch. It has 4 holes. They used buck rivets on the edge where the back of the rivet is exposed. They used 1/8" pop rivets on the edge of the latch that goes over the door frame. They had to use pop rivets there. Pop rivets would have worked fine in all 4 holes.

1/8" diameter or 1/8" length?

also, aren't the Airstream rivets a bit thinner in diameter than the type you can get in a hardware store?

Airstream Supply Co. is a great resource for rivets:

https://airstreamsupplycompany.com/story/rivet-guide/

AD48ABS is a 4/32" (1/8") diameter rivet with a 8/32" (1/4") grip range. It's a blind rivet with an aluminum shell and steel mandrel.

I ordered one of their kits which comes with all of the common rivets as well as the correct drill bits for installation.

Did you order directly from Airstream?

Ok, I was able to navigate Airstream Supply Company's quirky (to say the least) website and order a packet of AD48ABS rivets. Wheew.

Copy and paste AD48ABS rivet this in the search bar for Amazon and you’ll see it.

The aluminum shell and stainless steel mandrel rivets are what JC is using now. Fewer popped rivets than the all aluminum rivets you find in big box hardware stores.

Not always easy to find the right rivets for an Airstream—they are a slightly different size than standard ones used elsewhere. I had to look around and found them somewhere, but it was a long time ago. Looks like you've found what you need.

Airstream uses rivets in part because they are part of the design, but screws can be substituted in some places and may be a better fastener at times. Keeping the screen door closing properly because of hinges that would bend slightly was always a problem with ours.
