I have a 2019 FC 27FB twin with 50 amp service and factory solar. The last three times I traveled I noticed that the converter did not come on when I hooked up to electric. My voltage read 12.8 after traveling and after hooking up. The converter didn’t start working till the next morning after the voltage dropped to 12.4. It then started charging in bulk mode. It then goes into the usual cycle of absorption and float modes.
Is this normal or should it start charging as soon as it is plugged in?
That sounds reasonable. If the battery voltage is over 12.7 it’s not really necessary to charge it.

If you are plugged in, using lights and other 12v gear your wfco converter/charger should be in Absorption mode @13.6v.
If you turn off loads, put the trailer away, etc, but keep batteries connected but under no load, the wfco converter will go into float @13.2v after 2 days.
