I think that the umbilical charge line going straight to the brake pump with another line going from the pump to the
12v bus would be better. The reason I think that is that if your trailer batteries were dead there would be less risk of them stealing ALL the power, not leaving enough to operate the breaks. I have no proof it would make a difference just a theory.
