Battery placement

I am rebuilding 63 Safari and installing solar power where would be the best placement for the batteries? Does it make sense to place two batteries wired in parallel on opposite sides of the trailer over the axle? All thoughts and suggestions welcome.
Thank you, Mike

Have not done it yet. Winter has kept me indoors.
Nice to know someone else thinks it might be reasonable.

Seems a very reasonable question to me. Wish I had asked it as I left my single battery in the original battery box outside on the front of the shell. If more capacity is needed for boon-docking 2x batteries make some sense. Putting them on both sides of the trailer raises some questions because you want some pretty stout wire running between them. I have been researching solar to keep my single battery topped off and keep arriving at “all this money to keep a battery charged?” question. I have looked at amsolar and arizonawindandsun and 100 watts is an investment. Still digging into it.
