Terry, a 3EE or a 3ET battery will fit your battery box. A couple of good threads with info on batteries for the pre-univolt trailers are It's official - no converter or charger & I need advice and 62 overlander battery - what is going on here? .
You can also find some info about 12 volt at the bottom of the page at. Frequently Asked Questions. Vintageairstream.com has lots of good info for trailers like yours.

Sugarfoot is correct ,same battery I use ,thay call it a forklift battery these days ,Napa ,Carquest can supply it .I use a little float charger to maintane it
all the time. Ive wired it in to the trdwnd wiring .It does not charge when the battery is of sufficient rate of charge ,but if you run the grover or other 12 volt device ,it immediatley will resume charging .Its does a good job .If Im
camping and need more charge ,Ive got the EU 2000 honda .

Ditto, Scott. Many good friends have been made due to this forum. I'll never be able repay all the wonderful help I've received from Airstream (and SOB ) friends and neighbors. I'll pitch in where ever I can.
