Our Shower Drains Verrrry Slowly

Hello Folks,

We have been renovating our '72 Sovereign for about two years now and put in a custom aluminum shower. After using us a time or two, we noticed that it drains very slowly, despite venting properly. It seems that it isn't emptying into the tank as it should. Any ideas how to solve this? We will post pictures asap, as we are getting closer and closer to launch!

I had my belly pan off to paint the frame and chose to replace my shower drain
in the process.
Note that the P-trap is installed in a cut out ABOVE the floor as close to
the drain as possible...if it was lower I imagine the water would be flowing
up hill to the holding tank.
This could slow things up.
I for one would love to see a photo of your custom aluminum show-stall.
G'luck

If you used the original trap it may be as simple as the trap is clogged. We frequent the beach ans thus an above average amount of sand ends up in the trap. I took a simple bath tub stopper, that fits the drain, and drilled a hole through the center of it. Put the stopper in the drain and apply a garden hose to the stopper and turn on the water. That pressure will move anything that has settled in the trap.
