I wish I could claim that what you saaw was my design, but it is how the Avion was built originally. Avion took Dexter axles, cut them in two, and welded eyes on the cut ends. Those eyes were used to fasten the axle in the center of the frame. So what they did was make an 6-wheel independent suspension. I found a place that shows this setup... it's where I bought the new shocks: Tri-Axle Suspension Eye to Eye with 2

My trailer is a 1987 model. I think that the 1988, 1989, and 1990 models had the torsion axle system. No rubber on mine.... all steel!

Sorry Del but I haven't received any messages from you.
They do look pretty good but they have not been replaced. Check out posts 467,489 and 493 on this thread for the procedure I used.....Good Luck

Hi Del, just wondering how you are doing with "Tinbad"? We had our first weekend trip in "jill" a couple of weekends ago up to Harrison Lake. Friends up there have put 3 RV pads in their large front yard of their holiday home. We got lots of advice from them and enjoyed the experience. Larry has some questions about a number of things we are trying to solve with advice from the forums. What does your CDN girl think of your purchase? We might be in B'ham this weekend for some shopping. TAke care and good luck with your work on Tinbad. Cheers, Shannon Leslie in Tsawwassen BC
