Question chlorinating fresh water

Greetings.
Do others of you make it a practice of chlorinating the water in your fresh water tank in addition to whatever chlorine the "city" might have used? We use bottled distilled water for drinking and tooth-brushing, but the fresh water for washing dishes, etc.

Also, last trip we had some cloudiness in the water from the freshwater tank. Any suggestions as to what this might be? It didn't smell bad.

We sanitize the tank before use, but unless that water is going to be there for a very long period, it should be fine to drink without additional chlorine.
