Alternative to Zip Dee

I am a long time (unsuccessfully) looking for a sunstorm for my old Airstream Cruiser in 1954. At the time there was the ZipDee not yet, also disturbed the attached support arms when the store is parked. In photos I saw with leather tape rolled fabrics attached to the roof. Something like that would please me. Can someone give me a hint? Thank you!

Greetings from Switzerland - Werner

So I'm looking for something similar. I love the cartridge awnings like in the VW t6.

I found Girard Awnings- the gg750 looks promising, but there is a lot of fab involved, and I'm back and forth on that. It looks awesome with LED lights at the end, cantilevered construction, but completely covered when retracted. And $900 cheaper than a single zip dee. Needs some brackets fabbed, which I know I can do, but again, how much time and what product.

I'm interested in your results/opinion.
