Schizo Dometic Refrigerator

I have a Dometic RM2620 refrigerator that's about 10 years old in my '85 AS Sovereign. It's worked like a champ, however, on a recent trip it stopped cooling properly even though the freezer section was fine. Where the temp had been stable at 35-40°, it wouldn't get below 55-60°. We made sure the probe on the fin was connected and located correctly. This seemed to happen after loading it up with groceries on night so we took most everything out, put them in a cooler and watched to see if it recovered overnight. It did not. We then shut down the unit for 6 hours and then powered it up again. It still would not get below 60°. Thinking the cooling system failed, we turned the unit off again. After a few days, I powered it up again and, like magic, it's back to cooling properly and has been holding a constant temperature of 35-40° for a week. What gives? Has anyone had a similar experience?

Thanks!

They are quite sensitive to being grossly off level. Was your fridge level all the times you had issues with it?

The other possibility is that it was just in need of a rest, so the fluids and gasses in it could settle properly. When you restarted it, it was probably nicely level, and started up properly.

Some have reported pulling the fridge out, inverting it for a few minutes, up-righting it for a few minutes, then repeating for a few cycles, "burps" the internal circulation system and restores normal operation...

They can act quite weird...

Thanks Rich.
Yes, it was level. Hoping it doesn't have any more hiccups going forward.
