Rub Rail Separation

I did a little searching around in the forums and I want to be sure I'm using the correct sealant. Do I use Parbond? How do I prep the surface?

A gust of wind caught my door and caused it to slam pretty hard against the body. This caused about 1/16" (ish) separation of the rub rail from the body. It's less than a foot in length. What sealant should I use to protect it until it goes in for maintenance in June?

Thanks

I would use Vulkem or Sika-Flex. It's thicker and gooier & fills the gap. Parabond is better for tiny seams where you want it to wick into the seam.
