Need Loaner Tool: Olympic Rivet Shaver
Does anyone have an Olympic rivet shaver they would lend me? I'd only need it for one day and then send it right back. I'd be willing to put down a deposit. I'm an honest man and I will ensure it gets back to you the same or better than it arrived.

Sometimes people clip the mandrel as close as possible and use a dremel to get it the rest of the way instead of buying the tool. It's a viable alternative if you have a small number of olympics to shave.

I've done that and hand filed them as well. I'm replacing both wing windows, so I have a decent amount to do. My solution to buying the tool is to borrow the tool!

You can also rent the tool. Some Airstream dealers offer this service. I have a "rental" in my toolbox.

The rental can be rented, but you would have to call the dealership where I work to rent it.
I am not allowed to tell you where I work or post any links, but it is in Colfax, NC.

Here is the thread I posted. I used a concaved dremel grinding bit on my harbor freight dremel knock off. It worked great. They came out perfect. I paid under about $14.00 for the grinder and $4.00 for the grinding bit. The whole thing took me about a couple of hours.

Did the aluminum clog the grinding bit?

I used a Dremel and a flap wheel sander 80 grit. I thought it did a decent job. Clip the mandrel down close as you can to the rivet.

It was like cooking. Went low and slow. The aluminum wears down like butter melting. The bit did not clog. Looked great
