Drilling hole for 12V DC Electrical wire for LED awning lights

I have some LED lights for under my awning on my 2004 Classic rear bedroom.

I’m thinking I can drill through near rear awning mount and get straight into the top of the Side closet.

How many layeres am I drilling though and what concerns should I have?

The inside of the closet has the same material as the headliner. Some type of tan vinyl or leather. I’m talking the horizontal storage that attaches to the vertical closet which has power available for the light switch and the fantastic fan controls. That is where I plan to get the 12V power for the controller.

Pic added. I have reversed the lights so that the connection is in the rear near the bedroom cabinets. Still planning to drill a small hole just under the lights and awning for wire to connect to Fan power in bedroom closet.

Any suggestions?

I installed an LED awning strip light on our 2005 30' Classic. I drilled a small hole from the outside into the wardrobe in the bedroom. I got power from the light mounted on the side of the wardrobe. I put a switch in the cubby in the top of the wardrobe.
