Bambi II Tires

Anyone have a suggestion on tires and where I can get them? I have a 64 Bambi II that still had the 7.00 14 tires on them. I went to replace them and was told the replacement was the ST205/75 14. I was also told the tires would be a bit wider than the original. When I put them on I found the tires were rubbing on the shock absorber. Any advice on where I can find a tire replacement?

Thanks,
Matt

Maybe Coker tire in Chattanooga, TN. They make retro tires.

If there is room on the fender side, perhaps a spacer between the hub and wheel can get you the clearance you need. The wider tires would be a plus in terms of handling and safety margin.

Thanks

Thanks for the replies. The Google search was the first thing I tried. It didn't help much and recomended the same tires the tire shop did. I checked Coker tire. They didn't show the original tire size but it is a good resource that I've saved in my favorites for future use. Good idea of the spacers, I hadn't thought of that but by adding spacers my lug nuts would't have enough grip on the lugs.

Reading other information it looks like I need a new axle. That may actually solve the problem. I need a new axle anyway.

Thanks for the quick responses.

Matt

Bambi 2 basically the same as a caravel. I had this issue once I had a flat from the original Tire I did use the 205 Tire but I had a problem with getting it on the first time so I thought about going with an narrow Tire
