We just bought a new Tahoe to haul our 25fb Flying cloud. We were told to increase the tire pressure from a recommended 32 psi. to the max rating of 50 psi. Is this ok?

Hi, yes, but you might not want to go all the way. My Lincoln tires had a max air pressure of 44 lbs and the factory setting was 26 lbs in front and 33 lbs in the rear; I set mine at 35 lbs in the front and 40 lbs in the rear when towing.

If you go to a truck scale, you can get the loaded weights for all axles including trailer, which will help you determine if you have proper weight distribution. But it will also help you determine the best air pressure for tires at each axle based on the tire manufacturers recommended psi based on load.

Get the certified scale weights. In the meantime, use the owners manual to determine maximum cold tire pressure, and to preserver the FF/RR pressure differential.
