Centramatics for 2012 Flying Cloud 25FB
We will be picking-up our new 2012 FC 25FB in a couple of weeks and would like to use Centramatic balancers. Andy Rogozinski says I need a 10" diameter flat space on the back side of the wheels for the Centramatics to fit. From what I can tell from photos, it looks like the 2012 FC wheels are the same as 2011. Does anyone have Centramatics installed on a 2011/12 FC (or similar wheel), or if not, do you know whether there is room inside these wheels to install the Centramatics? If Centramatics won't fit, will a normal off-hub wheel balance suffice? Any other recommendations?

I have the Centramatics on these wheels on our 03 Classic.
I don't know just how different the flanges are on the different Alcoa styles. But a call to the CM factory with your measurements should help, great CS!!

Wow, Bob. Those are some nice looking wheels. Tried to read the sizing in the photo but couldn't make it out. What size wheel/tire combo? Off topic, I know, but had to give you the compliment.

Thanks. Didn't recognize them as stock wheels. I still like them!

Ok, I'll try this angle. Does anyone know the manufacturer/supplier of the 15" mag wheels on the 2011/2012 Flying Cloud 25FB?

Airstream has bought wheels from various suppliers over the years, perhaps all in Elkhart, Ind. More recently Tredit Tire and Wheel has been the supplier, but Airstream changes suppliers from time to time. Before that, I believe Greenball Corp. was the supplier and I believe they were dropped early in the 2008 model year.
To be sure, call customer relations at Airstream.
Our experience has been the Centramatics fit both the 15" OEM wheels (probably from Greenball) and when we replaced the, the 16" wheels that came from Tredit.
It is not the wheel, I believe, but the brake drum that the Centramatics disk has to fit over. The disk is a flat piece of aluminum with the outer edge curved over on itself—that has to clear the drum.

I would just call the folks at Centramatic. They know what is up. I have them on my 09.

Andy told me the same thing (somewhat understandably because that is the certain, quick, easy diagnosis for Andy). However, I'm not in a very good position to take my wheels off to measure, put them back on, order, etc. I ended up calling Centramatics directly and they kindly gave me a little of their time to talk through how to determine what I needed without taking the wheel off ... after I gave them the specifications of my wheels, brakes and axles ... they were able to determine which Centramatics I needed. I ordered them and they fit perfectly.

So which Centramatic did you order? Is it listed on their website?

I love mine, I just put them on for my trip to Oregon and could tell the difference inside. Stuff stayed where I put it.

I haven't taken a trip since I put them on. Hopefully they do what the manufacturer represents ... I'd really like to lengthen the life of my tires as well as the rivets holding my Airstream together.

Remember...they do work better if the tires are balanced, before installation.

Yes, I noted your advice in another thread and balanced my tires. The Centramatic training video on their website concurs with your recommendation. She should be riding smooth and straight now!
