AC condensation leak

We recently purchase a 2014 Serenity 27FB. The main cabin AC leaks condensation into the trailer. Our mechanic checked out the AC and all was normal. He said in hot humid weather you have to run the AC fan on high at all time and not on auto. Is this normal?

This does not sound normal to me. I live in 85+ degree heat with 100% humidity 6 months out of the year and never have that problem. It sounds to me like the hose that vents the condensation overboard is either not connected properly or is missing entirely. (On mine it terminates just forward of the left tires.) See if any water is coming out that pipe. If not, that might be the issue. Surprised nobody else has replied to this thread yet... hopefully they will!

I have same problem on both a/c's I'm thinking its the seals how often should they be changed? thanks

Buy some plastic tubing that fits on the end of the drain hose outside the trailer and blow on it. Does it feel like it's restricted. You can also run weed eater tri line up the hose from the outside. Mine was leaking too and was due to it leaking from the drain pan outlet inside the air distribution box. I esealed it and it's been fine in the most humid weateher.

One think about this drain system is when the fan is running the water trick keys out but as soon as the fan turns off the water pours out. However when I have the AC low fan and not auto it still doesn't drip into the air distribution box.

It probably would be a good idea to remove the cover and see what is going on in there. I had some years of dried algae / gook in the condensate trap that had to be removed with compressed air. I was able to blow it out from the top down. It's easier than it sounds.

In no particular order

Blow through the drain tube in the wheel well. If there is resistance it may be plugged. You can run very stout weed whacker line up it like a snake and perhaps clear the blockage.

Remove the inside shroud and see if you see any blockage in the drain tube. Multiple screws around the perimeter and two that are hidden in the slide out filters. Very easy to detach and will let you see the stuff in the item. Also might help you find where it is puddling.

Your model should have the AC drain cups, white catch basins on road and curb side? Drain tubes connect to both side and are T-d together. Maybe they are plugged.

There is a weather strip type of gasket that goes all the way around. Maybe it needs to be replaced.

Finally you don't mention where it is leaking/condensating. That information might help.

I had condensate on the inside, turns out if filter gets too dirty and air flow becomes restricted then a negative pressure is created causing condensate. Since we have started full timing in our airstream we have to clean such things more often.

In addition to those suggestions - we found that running the AC when any vent was open (bathroom, shower, fantastic fans even not running, a window, etc) would created condensation on the AC unit.

There was a kink in the drain line. We will take Lucy out
next week and make sure all systems are working normal.
