While unleaded had gone up approx. 50 cents a gallon diesel here has stayed the same price. Diesel has been running about 90 cents a gallon more than regular unleaded until just recently. Another teaser for diesel users???

Hold onto your wallets! We just got back from a trip to Yosemite National Park.

When we left on Thursday, 10/03 it was $4.19 for regular in Orange, CA. We saw $5.41 for regular inside the park and when we got home on 10/10 we filled up in Fontana, CA at $4.71 for regular!!!

Tesoro didn't refine enough summer blend and ran out causing spot shortages in the state. The Governor allowed the refineries to start making our winter blend early but the damage is done.

Thanks to the AQMD regulations California is not allowed to import gasoline from outside the state.

We ended up spending $337 for a 950 mile trip.

We filled up with diesel at Walmart in Meridian, MS this morning for the bargain price of $3.74.

How sad that this seems cheap.

We paid $3.57 at an Indian casino gas station between Alb. and Santa Fe a couple f days ago. Lowest we've seen in Santa Fe was also $3.57.

I remember less than that. .19 a gallon in Houston during 'gas wars' between competing stations. they also pumped it for you, washed the bugs off your windshield, and gave you a Houston Oilers logo highball glass with a fill up.

We paid $3.38 for regular in Roswell last week (Thursday). The back up to $3.56 in Texas - Brownfield, $3.64 in Austin.

Yep in the early '70's I used to fill up my VW bus for $2.50.............although my pay check as a computer operator was $94. Weekly.

This island is seventeen miles by about 2. A tank lasts a long time.
