Touring Books for RV's

Is anyone aware of any books that have been published that show RV driving tours? Perhaps something that shows the top sights to see in a given area with recommended RV camping sites several 100 miles apart.

AAA books can provide quite a bit of information if you have a general idea of where you want to go.

If you can identify a WBCCI caravan that covers the general area of interest, the trip plan can be helpful.

Next step is to look for a blog that someone who has done the areaea, might have posted.

Suggest you start with a Good Sam map or a Passport America catalog and develop a general route. Then use the AAA books to flesh out where you want to stop and visit. Adjust the nightly travel schedule and you soon have a plan.

Hope you find a book that does it all. Brother had AAA do a trip plan for him.

National Geographic has a set of road trips:

and Good Sam members can use their trip planning software which has many things to see and do.

Several apps which show you the oddities along the way ie Rte 66 Blue Whale, etc.

I didn't even realize that Good Sam had trip planning software available. I took a quick look and it think it will be helpful.

Also I am not familiar with Passport America. Something else to investigate.

There are books and posts on social media showing routes and points of interest.
You will learn a lot of things to see and do by getting out there and seeing and doing.
Others in the community- in the campgrounds- will tell you of interesting things.
Joining WBCCI and doing some caravans and rallies will help with seeing and doing.
The WBCCI magazine, The Blue Beret, outlines all the rallies and caravans set around interesting and historic tours and monuments.
Even a Google search will give you some of the information you are seeking.

If you go to Amazon and type "RV tour books" in the search engine, all kinds of them pop up. Enjoy!

I recommend a book called "The Best Scenic Drives in America". It divides the US into 5 regions and includes 75 National Scenic Byways and 21 All American Roads. It provides maps of the roads plus scenic, recreational, natural, historical, cultural and archeological info. We have traveled a few of these roads so far in AZ, NM, WI, CO, and OH and plan to do more. The Great River Road and the Peter Norbeck Scenic Byway are two favorites so far.

Thanks to everyone for your varied suggestions. I purchased a book on Amazon called Idiot's Guide, RV Vacations. It breaks the USA into 5 zones and then provides various tours in these areas. Included are campgrounds, restaurants and attractions within that tour area. Also the best time to visit. I also like that in addition to the major destinations, like NP's, it includes less know areas.

A book was purchased at Camping World called Next Exit, which provides information such as restaurants, gas stations, and services for every exit on the interstate highway system. The RV friendly gas stations and restaurant (clearance issues) are highlighted in red which is helpful.

I should have guessed as much. I never checked if it was available in digital format. Duh!

We did use the hard copy yesterday and it is a handy tool to have along.

Airstream sent me a national geographic national parks guide when i bought the trailer. it's pretty useless. i have better luck with google.
