I need help locating a RV Park in San Antonio, the vicinity of
410/10/281 or Merton Minter Road (V.A. Hospital) I appreciate hearing from anyone who is familiar with North West/Central San Antonio and can assist us.
We wanted our home base out of the city. WBCCI members told us about it. It was nice and quiet. Right on the lake. About 30 miles north of San Antonio. With the golden age pass port, I think we only paid $9 per night. We were there a week. We toured the Alamo and did the tourist things. It is a corp of engineer park. If you are there as a tourist that is something you might be interested in.
Also nearby in Guadalupe State park. Also a really nice park but more seculded.
We aren't familiar with parks right in San Antonio.
This would be a great location, I'll look it up for a future trip! Since I will be there on business, we are searching in Northwest San Antonio. Thanks for suggestion though.
There is a KOA within sight and just to the east of down town. The bus goes right by it and we rode the bus rather than try to find parking. You could actually walk down town if you wanted the exercise. Lots of shade trees. Not the best part of town, but it was quiet. It's inside of the I-35, 410, I-10 triangle.

There are several RV parks out on 281 in the Bulverde area. My daughter stayed in one for about 6 months during a move from St. Louis. They don't look half bad and she liked it there.
It's about 10 minutes outside of loop 1604.

Can't remember the name of the RV Park, but it is located Off of I-35 in Schertz, Tx about 5 miles from Loop 410 and near Loop 1604. Both of these Loop's will take you to the VA. We stayed there for one night and it was alright. I believe the exit number is 176. Schertz is a Northeast subburb of San Antonio. There are also several RV parks off of I-281, which is on the Northwest Side of San Antonio.
I'm not sure of the exact location, but Blazing Star is a very nice and relatively new RV Park. It is well maintained, with all the amenities that you would want/need. I do know that it was about 5 miles away from Sea World. I am assuming that they have a web site.
