On the way back home
We are now in Van Horn, Texas. We left Annacortes ,Wa. 2 weeks ago tomorrow. Went down the Oregon coast down 101 stayed ay Camp kiwanda and Gold Beach. Willets, Ca. and Lodi, Ca. On to Barstow, Ca. and then to Phoenix, Az. Stayed in Tucson a couple of nights for warranty work and to replace a rear panel damaged by an RV park employee who backed me into a tree. On to Lordsburg, NM. We have been on the road since July 1st. From FTL, Fl. to this point over 6800 miles, Too short of a time too many miles. In this time frame we stayed a week in Annacortes for boat business and elsewhere one night stands except for friday and saturday nights. Since this is our first trip except for picking the 31 classic up at Colonial down to FTL we have learned quite a bit about what not to do. Scratch the generators scratch the monaque folding bike that never made it out of the suburban, too tired after 350-500 miles to do anything but hookup water and sewer and make dinner. Only unhitched if we stayed more than overnight. Here in Van Horn we had a conversation with a Homeland Security agent, amoing other things there are ordinances about boondocking even out here, Alien traffic just across the nearby mountain, roadrunners and coyotes roam this KOA. Wild Javelina's (boars) cross through...make sure you dump the garbage! Gravitated in thinking from primitive backwoods to concrete level patio pads with 1/2 million dollar "Big Rigs". Check advertsements for "Big Rig Friendly". keywords for classier amenities.
