Campgrounds In/Near Tucson

We are heading to Tucson for a family member's wedding on May 17. Does anyone have recommendations for a good, safe campground in the area? We're looking for something with full hookups.

Thanks!

Tucson Area RV Parks

Hey there...

If you were wanting to camp in a camp ground I would recommend Gilbert Ray Camp Ground in the Tucson Mountain Park...it's run by Pima County, has electricity, water and dup station availalel but no water or sewer hookups. It is on the west side of the Tucson Mountains, so it is a ways to Tucson, but not too bad, and you are really out from town in a beautiful desert setting.

Catalina State Park is very close in to Tucson on north Oracle Road near Ora Valley and the NW side... there are water & electric hookups, no sewer hookups...water & dump station available...

Here are the websites or phone numbers for several Tucson area privately run RV parks...check them out...I'm sure you'll find something that is to your liking. (Some are 55+)

The private ones are from Woodall's and Trailer Life Directory. I can't vouch for any of those, but some of them look pretty nice... My favorite is Gilbert Ray.

Good Luck and enjoy your time in Tucson! It shouldn't be too hot in Tucson yet...

Wow! Thanks for the information. We knew we could count on our fellow Airstreamers to offer good recommendations. We'll look into these campgrounds.

We stayed one night in March 2005 at Beudry RV Resort as part of a cross-country trip. The virtual tour on their website,
http://www.beaudryrvresort.com/,
shows both inside and outside views. We did not make any use of their extensive amenities since we were only interested in a place to park the A/S and sleep. We chose Beaudry because of its proximity to Interstate 10 and because we would be outbound from Tucson when we departed the next a.m. It appeared to be fairly upscale and is probably a snow-bird spot during the winter months.
