Best places to overnight, taking I-95 South to Florida?
Hi all, traveling to Florida via I95 S end of November starting from WV.
Any travel tips regarding I95 S and recommendations of best places to overnight along the way appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve

I-95 stop off
I-95 Exit # 29, Brunswick, Ga. Nice little RV Park right off the interstate. Coastal RV Park. I stay there on way to Melbourne, Fl. from my home in Hendersonville, N.C. Leaves me with just 230 miles to Melbourne.

A very nice county park is Blythe Island Regional Park Brunswick Ga about 3 miles off 95 at route 25.
Ga. Crooked River State part is a bit further south
And if you can get in the beach sites at Ft Clinch Fl. are at the top of the list

One of the first exists off I-95 is to Fernandina Beach and Ft. Clinch. It has two RV campgrounds, beautiful beaches and, with its live oak hammocks, is a great introduction to Florida.

KOA in Fredericksburg, VA is right off RT 95. That could be too far north for you depending on how you are getting from WV to RT 95.

Campendium
A wonderful resource for the mobile community is Campendium, which has a web site and very user-friendly, downloadable app. Users rate campgrounds throughout the country. We use and contribute to it regularly and highly recommend it to all

Stayed at Georgia Rest Stop MM41 SB last year on way from PA to Melbourne. Rest stop was spacious and very clean although you are mixed in with Semis.

Ga exit 1, KOA serves free pancake breakfast.
Merit Island / Cocoa Beach turn off, hwy 520, look on Google two parks behind McDonalds west side of I- 95, Sonrise Palms. and Joy something.
St Aug south, maybe hwy 206, Favor Dykes State Park....short rigs. Trees.
It's the season don't expect to get into the popular parks like Fort Clinch , Anstasia SP, etc except for "off" days.

Enfield/Rocky Mt, NC KOA is right on I-95 - ok for an overnight but nothing special. Nearby if you have a few hours is the Sylvan Heights Bird Center, birds from all over the world.
In that same area Medoc Mt State park. A little further off I-95 in that same area, less expensive and pretty nice.
There is another KOA near Lumberton, but I think it was flooded during hurricane Florence. Not sure how/if they have recovered.
There are several campgrounds around Lake Marion, near Santee, SC. Santee KOA is an easy on and off. Mosquitos will be BAD now until there is a freeze.
Skidaway Island state park is one of my favorite's, near Savannah. It's a few miles off of I-95 through heavy traffic.
Brunswick KOA is a halfway point for us. Stayed there many times. Easy on and easy off.

Second on Blythe Island County Park. !0 mins off I-95 with a Flying J and Winn Dixie right there. Probably the longest pull thru sites you've ever seen.

If you’re a WBCCI member, seek out courtesy parking along the way at other members’ homes.

We go to FL every winter leaving from NC. We rarely use 95 because of the traffic especially when the snowbirds like us fly south. 95 in SC is only 2 lanes in each way and in terrible shape. You might consider a more inland route, we take 301 but it depends on where you're wanting to end up in FL.

Check out the COAcamps along the way. And Ultimate Campgrounds web site. It lists all public campgrounds.

I take 441 or 221 instead also. I stay off the interstates and you can go 65 mph on those other roads anyhow
