SW Caravan

I would challenge any diehard jihadis to travel on the ground across the USA and still think that they could bring this county to its knees. Not that I’m challenging any of you jihadis that follow my blog. Nor do any homegrown crazies need to test my hypothesis,

There are too many parts of our culture and those parts mesh in a way...

We're just back from a 50 day plus AS caravan. Then we stayed a couple of nights at the AS only park in Tennessee on the way home. That was quickly followed by a 4-day semi-official AS Rally. All had group meals. There were about 50 on the caravan and about 500 ( no exaggeration) AS owners to be served at the 4-day rally. At the AS park, there was a birthday party one night that everyone was invited. I estimate there were about 100 people singing happy birthday that night.

We're back in NC!

Posted 10-17-2018 at 09:40 PM by mbubbaca

To Durango, CO

Posted 09-11-2018 at 04:07 PM by mbubbaca

Weak WiFi so I’m writing this not certain when I’ll get enough signal to get it out.
Today was a travel day. It was the most windshield time we’ve had since Gaile and I made our almost mad dash from NC to ABQ.
This was a day that showed us the most diverse geography so far. We started our day in the hot New Mexico desert and now sit in a tree filled RV park in Durango CO.
Last night we had a humdinger of a thunderstorm. I’m not sure what time it started. When I went to bed there...

More on the road

Posted 09-11-2018 at 04:05 PM by mbubbaca

It’s hot and it’s smoky but we’re in Albuquerque ( from now on ABQ ) and a part of 29 other Airstream rigs ready to go.

Hot because it is the desert after all but smokey because of the wildfires to the West. I’m sure that there will be some detours and adjustments that will need to be made because of the fire danger conditions, some washed out roads and because things just happen when you have this many moving parts.

So far, and this is day one by the way. We’ve had...
