Yes, eggs in the USA and Canada are refrigerated.

Always asked myself why in refrigirators eggracks are placed, you dont need to sore them in the fridge???

But lately I discovered that in America they wash the egs , and so they loose their natural protection- layer, and for that reason have to be stored cold.

Notice the little chickenpoop and a little veather.
And carefully a little stamp is placed with kind of egg and country .

Thougt this was " nice to know" and suprising info for you americans.
Not a surprise to me, and I try to avoid "washed" eggs. They spoil faster and lose their taste much quicker when the protective layer is washed off. The eggs become porous and even refrigerating them doesn't keep them fresh as long as unwashed eggs.
This is one of those Big City inventions. Can't be knowing that eggs actually come from chickens!

Some farms sell them directly to customers, so I would say “yes”. ☺️

How do you carry your eggs on the road?
Use the fiber container the eggs originally come in. Tons of engineering has gone into them to keep your eggs safe! And if there is a mishap, you toss the soiled carton in the next campfire, hard boil what ever eggs are not broken and buy another carton!

Research preserving eggs using 'waterglass'!
https://www.lakecountrymuseum.com/th...-preservation/

You can preserve fresh eggs, for months, stored on a shelf... in a cool basement... at room temperature!!!!

Those cartons are one way

Turn your eggs around so the narrower end faces the spikes. And use large (not XL) eggs. I had the same problem at first.

No carton

We crack ours and put them in a jar. 2 pint size jars will hold a dozen eggs. For short trips I crack them and mix in milk and cheese for scrambled eggs before we leave.
