Amazon Deliveries At RV Resorts?

Howdy,

I'm currently in Quartzsite AZ using my space as my address. Others here say not problems over they years but I'm having issues...ALL with Amazon!

Being a Prime member I like the "free" 2 day delivery and after making sure the address is where I am as checking cart it says 2 day delivery. I place order and get told it will be 8 days.....

Then each packages has had weird delays on top of that.

I guess relying on Amazon under such circumstances not wise...

How's your experiences?

Thanks,

Warren

I do not know anything about Quarzite. I am at a RV park in Florida that has one street address for the park and lot numbers inside the park and Amazon brings it to the trailer door just like they do when I am home.

Must be quartzite. We've had deliveries all over with no big issues.

It seems like every time I log in there's a problem at Quartzsite, AZ.

I've purchased things from Amazon to be delivered to the next park on my itinerary (propane pigtails! Luckily only one of the old ones was actually leaking so I still had propane to run the fridge.) I was headed for a commercial park, and just had it delivered to me in care of the park (My name, the park's name, the park's address, no site#)

This was to Fort Collins, CO. Now that they have "Amazon Lockers" I might choose that... I used a locker the last time I needed something delivered to me on the road, in Grapevine, TX; there was one conveniently close and I didn't have to fiddle with the campground office. I see that there are none near Quartzsite, though.

Have never had a problem, in camps from New Jersey to California. Must be something about Quartzsite. Are there rusting hulks of abandoned UPS trucks scattered through the desert?

Well, Quartzite is....well, Quartzite.

Undoubtedly an area-specific issue, due to geography and the sheer numbers of people there, is my thought.

Hi

Amazon seems to have done *something* to their delivery calculations over the last couple of months. My *guess* is that it was related to the crush of deliveries at Christmas (followed by the crush of returns ...). Even on deliveries to my home, I have seen some odd things.

Try having it delivered to a local hotel. Check with the hotel first. I usually never have an issue with doing that.

Doesn't sound like a Quartzite issue, maybe over promising delivery on Amazon's end.
I'll be out there next week to get in on the big tent for the last weekend.
OP says he is in a park not open desert/BLM, UPS may be down on drivers after the holidays, sounds more like Amazon.

Delivery in Q is well.... Difficult.
In the past I've had a fixed physical address, often reported as unavailable. Nuts!

The frustration is.....

As you get ready to place the order WITH address already changed to Q-site Amazon says "order in next 2 hours and 51 minutes for Thursday delivery" this being say a Tuesday. I place the order and get a date 8 days out and then delivery delays mixed in.....

If they KNOW it will take 8 days don't tell me 2....

Minor problem! Been a great stay and weather finally classic Q-site!

Besides that issue, where do you shop for food in Q?
We stopped for an overnight there unprepared and tried to buy something to BBQ in camp and best we could find were hotdogs or frozen steaks from another era. Plenty of cheap vodka to be had though.

I've had a few problems with Amazon missing their delivery dates recently. One time they sent me an email saying my shipment might be lost, and I could either cancel the order or keep hoping. I really didn't need the thing right away, so I kept hoping and the item I ordered showed up a day or so later. Keep in mind that when they say “free next day” or “free 2 day” you often have to select that option when you check out, or you're stuck with whatever their regular delivery schedule and charges are. I got stung with that once, and now I know to check the box.

I dumped the fee I paid for Amazon Prime last year. Now I order enough to get the free delivery. I get the stuff in the same or shorter time than when I had Prime. And when I don't it is usually stuff I don't need that fast and can wait the 5 days. My opinion - why pay Amazon my bucks when they weren't delivering it in two days a lot of times (and good luck getting someone who didn't give you a bill of goods about following up personally on your order from India or the Philippines......), and I don't use the other "stuff" they say why I should pay for prime. If I want a reliable two days and free I use Target or Walmart.
