Any luck cleaning window blinds ??

We have a 2001 Excella Classic that has blinds on all the windows. Has anyone had any luck cleaning the day / night accordion blinds ??? I think they will be pretty costly to replace and they are in pretty good shape. A good cleaning, if possible, will work for us. We have had very good luck removing the curtains and washing them and now it's time to attack the blinds.

Soap and water seem to be the first choice. Past that maybe something like 409 cleaner. I would not get any crazier than that.
