Overhead Cabinet doors & hardware.

My 74 26' Argosy has the brown veneer for the most part on the kitchen cabinterty. However the overhead cab doors (all 4 front and rear) are missing various hardware components (clips and lift locks).
Worse one side has the same white textured vinyl glued to it which after 40 years has begun to bubble and tear.

I would like to keep the interior vs redo, so if you are gutting (or gutted) yours and willing to part with decent condition doors/hardware please PM me. For now I'm gong to invert the overheads and use the opposite side for which the veneer is in surprisingly good shape (save holes that can be patched).

Check classifieds and search for vintage airstream parts. If Inland RV, Vintage airstream supply do not have it just keep searching on the internet. The parts are out there.

I thought all the Airstreams of that era had tambour doors.

Airstreams did, Argosy's didn't. But, like usual, some Argosy's did have tambour doors at least in the front. If someone had an idea, it was tried out at Argosy.

My '74 Argosy has the same vinyl covered overhead cabinet doors as the OP has (with the same issues....).

Anything creative that you have done with them?

My ultimate goal is to resurface them with a thin glue-on veneer. The upper cab doors are my test case as just about every partion/wall surface behind the kitchen to the the rear has this. This would allow me to redo the entire rear end in manageable sections and still have a usable camper. Other than the surface everything seems functional.

If your looking for the lid lift/latch as in your third picture, try a hardware store or I bought mine for the outside rear compartment on Amazon. I had called Inland RV about them and that was Andy's advice.

Upgrades

I also have a '74 Argosy 26'

It's too bad you weren't working on this 4 years ago. I removed all of the doors and hardware. You could have had them for the price of shipping. I then installed new face frames and doors

The base cabinets in the galley are totally new.
The wood paneling in the berthing area is vinyl flooring attached to the original paneling with double sided tape.

Yes, I've followed your threads which is what gave me the idea to just reuse the existing structure. I just don't want to add any more weight. I have a whole ring of veneer samples from Lab Design to choose from someday.

I disassembled one them today in hoped that maybe, just maybe there was a clean veneered side hidden. ...but no such luck!

Eventually someone will come along who is gutting the interior for something nicer hopefully their offer is as nice as yours.

vintagetrailersupply.com has most of the hardware that you need. It is a little on the pricey side but it is there.
