PUMP/LIGHT issue????

hi guys
have a 2013 23FB INTER

im second owner...AS was layed up for years and lived in..all stripped.out and fresh as a daisey nowdays after 4 months of fun....

when i turn on pump in dunny....its takes a while to kick in....?

and when it does its kinda sluggish ?

if i turn on dunny lights while pump is on...the lights flicker and sometimes cut out and the pump too!???

then i check the fuse panel near floor under fridge and see a red fuse light ..i touch the fuse the pump comes back on and sometimes fuse light goes out???

so i have a pump/light gremlin???

im putting money on a couple of ideas

1. pump in on the same 12v feed and the light switch in dunny as the pump water tanks panel in directly above light switch...so maybe too small a 12v dual core cable to handle the feed to both?

2. the pump is stuffed and is causing resistance in the line so cuts out and affects andything else on that 12v feed?

please advise as the AS is working well otherwise

Try a new fuse. Sounds like you have one on the verge of failure. Also confirm no corrosion on the terminals where the fuse plugs in.

The pump, if original, might do well with a good cleaning. There are rebuild kits available for the most common pumps, but in reality they are fairly inexpensive to just replace. I rebuild my old one and keep it as a spare to the new one I installed.

If you can't get a rebuild kit, you can just clean and put back together using a little food-grade silicone plumbers grease on the rubber bits.

If you're chasing high resistance in the circuit, check your ground connections. There are at least a few of them - from the fuse panel to the chassis is one of them. If the ground is not clean & corrosion-free it could be the cause of your problem.

FIXED!!!!!!!!

As suggested a bad contact or earth!

looked at fuses and yes the one that was lighting up was indeed a stretch fuse holder crearing intermitant contacts.

.all fixed peeps!

thanks a bunch everyone!
my AS ROCKS again!!!!!
