I can't tell you what it was for. If you start walking around the TT and turn things on one at a time. Sooner or later you'll find something that doesn't work. Replace the holder with another 1 amp fuse & see it it works now. That will tell you what it does. When you know what it is, read the instruction for that particular item. That should tell you the proper size of fuse.
If you find a light that doesn't work, keep going till you find out how many lights areout. Check them again with the fuse replaced. This will tell you how many light bulbs are on the circiut. The total amount of watts used will be the indicator of the fuse size.
My guess of the inline fuse would be something added on, not stock. Like a radio, antennea signal booster, audio amp......
