For the Vitrifrigo, you don't need an inverter at all. When running, the Danfoss compressor pulls about 6 amps of 12vdc as I recall. The duty cycle averages about 50% in a reasonable climate so figure 72 amp/hours in a 24 hour day. Tough on a single battery, better with two, perfect with solar.

All you need with a Vitrifrigo is a bucket full of money.

True that. But I am still going that way when my Dometic finally gives it up.

I replaced the Dometic with the Vitrifrigo last Fall and have been extremely happy.

Have you priced a new Dometic lately? They're not bargains either... the Danfoss fridges are in the same ballpark price-wise with propane models.

Sorry as I do not know the electrical system terminologies yet.
I am planning to buy 2 Interstate Deep Cycle Group 27 batteries + Solar Panel (don't know which one yet). Do you think so that will be enough? Some says I need inverter some says no.. not sure how to proceed here.
Thanks a lot

If you plan to use a mini refer you will need an inverter unless you are going to be plugged in to shore power.
If you go with the "V" refer no inverter necessary. It runs on 12 volts.

I found the vitrifrigo to be not significantly more expensive than other RV fridges and have been fairly pleased with the unit.
