Newbie still shopping!

Hi all. We’ve gotten so much great info on this forum, so thanks to everyone that participates.

We are hoping to buy our first AS this year. We just had our 3rd kid, and decided that we wanted to travel more while they are young for week long trips and weekend getaways.

We have narrowed it down to pretty much any of the 28’ or 30’ RB twin models. We plan on putting the kids in the bedroom, and we’ll sleep in the front. We thought the separate dinette would be nice to always leave up so that we don’t have to convert the bed every morning and night if we don’t want to. But I’m definitely listening if anyone has input/opinions on this!

I know we’ll have lots of questions, so I look forward to participating more on this forum.

Welcome to the forum. It's good to have you with us. As you all ready know there are many good people willing to help and share in anyway they can.

IMHO it's great to start while the kids are young as they will have many good memories of your travels and your time together.

I might also suggest that you find a local unit of the Airstream Club and stop by when they have a rally in your area. You will again find a great group of people willing to share and help. It's a great place to learn as well as making great friends.

All the best as you go thru your buying process. Keep us posted!

Airstream floor layouts are very important to the individuals purchasing the trailer. Go to the winter RV shows, and go to Airstream dealers, and study the brochures thoroughly. Envision a rainy evening in the Airstream where you can't be outside, envision preparing the kids for bed, envision preparing the front room for bed, and envision mornings, meal prep, and all the rest. Is the shower big enough, is the dinette big enough, is the fridge big enough, does everyone have a place to sit in the evenings, where will you store your things for a week long trip?

We have really enjoyed traveling in our Airstream. It is 33 years old and still going strong. It keeps us comfortable no matter where we are. It has twin beds in the rear and a fold down couch in the front. It also has a dinette that can sleep "short people" but it isn't in the back.
