New Member, new Airstream

We've been lurking here a while but we pick up our new 20' Safari SE in Thursday, so I thought we'd better join.

The quality control issues at Airstream are a bit disconcerting, but I quess that's why the dealer charges a prep fee! Let's see if he earns it!

So what does SOB stand for? I've seen it used here in connection with non airstreams.

Hey you two...welcome.

SOB means either some other brand or some other box.

When you get your new unit, be aware of this problem that seems to be happening to more and more new units:

Welcome

Welcome. We're only two months ahead of you . . . so we hardly qualify as the official greeter, but that's too much like a rule.

We too are disenchanted wit A/S qc. They do do a great job with the aluminum part. Use your trailer often. Find the gremlins while the warranty is good. We had cab doors fall off, hot water malfunctions, leaks and squeaks, but like a lady told us at a rally, "They give you a lot to work with."

RVing is great. The Airstream community multiplies it by ten. We really love the people we've met because we were out in our airstream . . . and it keeps getting better.

See you on the road.

Welcome aboard!

Hi Wayna and "Sam"

We had no Q/C issues with our current Airstream. The one before that though..Sheesh.

I guess it's luck of the draw. However if you do have something thats not right take it in and have it fixed.

There's lots of opportunities to camp with Airstreamers on this forum. Take advantage of them. Neat people and lots of fun.

Hi Wayne and "Sam",
Welcome to the forums. Lots of info here, lots of people to ask questions and pick their brains, etc.
Enjoy the new trailer. If there are issues, don't focus too much on them - get them fixed. While I agree that problems can be aggravating, don't let them define your camping experience. It's a great trailer, whether you wind up with quality control issues or not.

Welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us.

Congratulations on your new baby. Hopefully, yours will be as great as ours has been.

That town you live in sure has a long name.

And another 20' SE!

We love ours, though we've had to fix a few things ourselves. I'm thrilled when I fix or improve anything, and I feel pretty good about knowing how the thing works. It's true: you really have a lot to work with. Enjoy!

Cheers,
-jd.

Hello Wayne&Sam. Welcome to the Forums! Close friends of mine are headed for a 20' SE -- probably next year. See this thread. You'll be able to change your user profile if you find out you have a 2008 by the time you pick it up.
