New member - here to learn

Hi Everyone, we have a deposit down on a 2022 Caravel 20FB to take delivery in September, 2021. I've been watching youtube videos and reading and researching but to be honest, am a little nervous about our impending purchase. I'm hoping to learn from this group and look forward to reading all of the discussions. There are a lot of negative videos about RVs and camping including quality of trailers and sales tactics, etc. So I hope to reassure myself that we are making a good decision. We've had trailers before and love camping, but want to make a wise purchase that can offer us years of enjoyment. Looking forward to learning from this group!

donnabray,

Welcome to Airforums from a fellow Palmetto State Airstreamer.

Not sure if you knew but last weekend not too far away in York SC there were 58 rigs old to new at a rally. Lot's of opportunity to kick tires, ask from folks "camping" on a city street and parking lot. That means using the water tanks and as req'd a generator or solar.

Bring the questions and there are quite a few AS'ers in The Palmetto and Tarheel States.

Congratulations on your new adventure. I predict you will love it! We’ve had many happy experiences over the last 25 years of camping, and traveling with an Airstream makes it even more special. Happy camping!

Welcome from Colorado: Congratulations on your decision to go up to an Airstream. They are different that ordinary travel trailers. I seldom search social media sites as I'm skeptical of much I read. But I believe these Airstream Forums have participates that are sincere and truthfully describe their experiences with their Airstreams. I believe you can make your travel adventures enjoyable. If you select some RV park you don't like, hitch up and hit the road to the next one. Your trailer will keep you comfortable and secure even in a WalMart parking lot.
