New Member Hello
Prestently looking for a AS Classic 25' - 30'. AS are not real popular in my area, maybe I can help change that. I am towing a 35' 5th wheel right now and tired of slide outs. They are ok until you have had a problem with them. Hope to pick up a lot of info. on this fourm site.

Welcome to the forums Kane. Hope you find all the information you are looking for. Sorry you have had problems with your slideouts. I have a slideout on my Airstream and I love it. The Airstream slides are built like brick sh*thouses (and weigh about as much).
Coming from a 35 footer is quite a step down sizewise. Are you in the market for a new or used AS? There are some good online sites for viewing new models. Colonial Airstream in New Jersey has a great site with lots of inside/outside photos of their current stock. Another similar site is Toscano RV in California. Both sites are great for AS shopping without leaving the house.
Take Care and keep us posted on your purchase.

You gain rivets by posting. The more you post the more rivets you acquire. At 500 you become "Rivet Master"

Welcome aboard! Yup, this is the place to learn all there is to learn about AS. If your going clasic, you'll find both the careful restoration and the extreme makeover. Pretty much your choice. We all love the Airstream as, well ya get a whole community. THat said, from suspension to frame, they are trailers of a different color...A well matched combo can be a good tow, even though you might find the shift from a fifth wheel to a standard tow an adjustment. Before you buy, read as much as you can, especially on suspension and frame. Might help to guide your choice of new wheels.
Welcome aboard.

5th Wheel to Tow
Thanks for your words of incuragement and advise. I have ben there and done that. I have had three tows and this is my second 5th/w. Both have pros and cons. I still lean more to the tow for more reasons than the last. Just gota have at least one of the famous classic AS.

Welcome & You Will Enjoy This Forum!
Good morning from Ca. and wecome!
We, too, are new to this forum and really enjoy. Hope you will find the perfect A/S. We recently purchased our third A/S. Believe we have found the right fit. Found our 2005 28W at Toscano RV in Los Banos, Ca. They are terrific.
Dave Morse has been the best and is not a high pressure salesman. Also, Bobby in the service dept. is great and pays attention to all details. Come on out to sunny Ca. and take a look see!
Best,
Earl* and Shirley

Hi. This is my first post. I am female and newly single, and if I am successful selling my home (lists next week), I am considering buying a 19ft airstream and spending some number of months living in it visiting family and friends. I already have a Ford Explorer with the big tow package, so I think I can tow the short airstream with no problem. Of course, I am a little concerned about being alone in RV campgrounds and on the road while towing. And I haven't figured out whether it is best to buy something new and expensive, or used from a dealer, or used from an owner. Anyway, hi from Florida.
