New Intro from NJ

Hey members. My family and I have just brought our first new Bambi 22FB. Loved the airstream from afar for a long time and decided to take the plunge this week. We are picking up our new trailer next week some time. Going to do lots of tailgating and camping

Was wondering if anyone can recommend great campgrounds near beaches and lakes in the northeast. Can't wait!!

Hey Red. We just spent the weekend at Jersey Shore Haven in Cape May Courthouse. It's an Airstream park located just a few minutes from all the beaches and stuff in Cape May. Great place to enjoy and relax for awhile. Just came home today ( in the rain) but the weekend was great. If you're purchasing your AS from Colonial I think they give you a couple of days there so " DO IT ". You won't be sorry.

OH, and look into and consider joining the Airstream Club, Watchung Unit.

Sometimes my eight year old and I spend the night at cheese quake state park for a short overnight. It's only 15 minutes from Edison.

Hello Red. Live just across the river in Bucks County, PA. Considering a 25 (FB) which we sat in at the Hershey RV show. Where are you storing the AS over the winter? Have you located a convenient place? Before buying I wanted to locate a storage site. Although we have 4 acres we are prohibited from storing it on the property for more than 24 hours.

Hey phil. Im storaging it on my property for now. If anything changes, i will look for a storage facility near me. Did you sit in one of colonialairstream's trailers? I brought mine from them. I believe Patrick Botticelli was there.

We did. We met with John Lenzo who was very nice and answered all of our questions. Trying to get storage worked out before we sit down with them. Retiring in December with a sophomore in college and one graduating with a job waiting. I started researching online and went to the show with the Int'l Sig 23 (FB) in mind but gravitated to the 25 which will work for my wife and I (and hopefully an occasional kid) for a few 3 week vacations each year in the spring and fall.

Airstream motto……See more, do more

Water is fun, but there are other destinations.

Lake Wallenpaupack in Pennsylvania has campgrounds. About two hours from you

Bethel Woods N,Y. ( where Woodstock was ) has outdoor Amphitheatre with GREAT concerts, and campgrounds close by.

Delaware Valley Bluegrass Festival. Four days of camping and music $95 per person kids free 2 1/2 hours from you.

We looked at both too. My wife likes that the table has the panoramic windows. The 16 will also fit in a regular car spot so storage is more flexible.

Can someone recommend a airstream cover that will not cover my solar panels? I couldn't find anything on that.

Most folks recommend NOT covering the trailer. Buffeting from the cover does more damage than leaving it in the elements.

Hi redvfr02 & welcome to the Airstream Borg.

I highly recommend you get the Allstays Camp & RV app. It's perfect for finding everything from campgrounds to road grades.
A really nice local campground to visit is YMCA Camp Car
517 Hamden River Road,
Annandale, NJ 08801
Phone: 908-735-5950 - Tent & Trailer

Since we're neighbors, If you need hands on guidance PM me and I'll make time to share what I have learned so far.

We're in the same town!!! I'm on Martin St.
When did you get your trailer? Are you a weekender or take longer trips?

I can't believe I've got two more Airstream owners near me.

Thanks for the tidbit. It would have been a shame to cover such a beauty.

Thanks. I'll look into the app and the camp ground. I will probably want to do a shakedown once i get it. I dont see much airstreams around here. I just think their hidden somewhere
