Talking Howdy from a newbie!

Hey folks!

We just signed up to join this great community. While we don't currently own an Airstream, we hope to soon. I grew up spending 3 out of 4 weekends and much of our summers living in Argosy campers...such fond memories. We had a Coleman pop-up for most of the years we were raising children, since that's all we could afford. Now that we're (almost) empty-nesters, we're looking to buy a nice Airstream to tour the continent in (and work out of for the last few years of employment).

Looking forward to learning from everyone, and sharing our experiences. Who knows, maybe make some new friends that we can eventually meet in person!

Cheers!
- Steve & Beth

Welcome to your soon to be Airstream life. I know the excitement y’all are experiencing. We felt the same the year before we retired, then jumped in head first after retirement. You have a lot of knowledgeable Airstreamers in your state to meet. Good luck, stay safe and let us know which Airstream y’all choose.

Welcome to the Airstream Community!

Hi Steve and Beth, welcome to the Airstream Community and Forums!

Do you have an idea what Airstream you’re interested in? There’s a saying on the forums “Buy your 2nd Airstream first”. It took us two tries but we’re very happy with our 27’ Globetrotter. Our first was a Flying Cloud 23FB, a very nice unit but after one season we realized we should have listened to our hearts.

By the way, we were just in your neighborhood this summer at Chatfield State Park! I looked up Castle Pines and it’s really close. My wife’s dear friend lives in the ‘Springs and we’ve been out to camp with her the last two years.

Hope you find your Airstream sooner than later. See you down the road sometime.

Jeff & Caryle

Welcome sfling. This is a great community and you can always find answers here to your questions.

We raised our two girls and camped in our tent trailer for 17 years. Best years of our lives and the fact that this is all we could afford didn't really make that much difference. Both of them are now grown and have tent trailers of their own. As we neared retirement we knew we would be traveling more and wanted an Airstream. We spent a lot of time looking, almost bought a new one locally but found a slightly used 2006 model in 2009. We both retired in 2010 and have been traveling a lot in the mean time. The hunt was challenging but it paid off for us. Best wishes in your plan. We ended up getting ours on Craig's List. Ours has been a great trailer. Wishing you the best.

Welcome from fellow Colorado Airstreamers. We live in a great state for camping, as you know. We’ve already booked 15 nights for 2021, and that list will grow quickly!

Welcome from another Colorado Airstreamer. We've had a 86 Limited 34' in our family since my wife's folks bought it new. They traveled all over in it during their retirement years. They enjoyed WBCCI caravans and rallys nearly every year. We now caretakers of this trailer and also travel with it, but not this year.

Many folks set up their trailers for work. I haven't seen a "perfect" floor layout from Airstream with this in mind. My friend and I overhauled his 76 Sovereign 31' last winter. He purchased a work table to replace the long credenza in the "front room" and that is his work table. It is working for him.

You might consider a bigger used trailer for your travel adventures. And you might be able to modify it to suit your needs.

Welcome from your neighbors to the north! We purchased our slightly used 2018 22FB Sport from Denver this summer. Love it and are looking forward to this coming season to take her out for many trips!

We've learned a wealth of information from everyone on this forum - great people with useful knowledge!

Hello,
Like you we are new as well. My wife and I just took possession of our 2021 33’ Classic and are full time (but still working). Just wanted to say hi from Southern California!
