Twin Bed Layout

Hi all, quick question...do the twin beds in a '67 Overlander pull out for a larger surface? The previous owner reworked my cushions and I can't tell how the original setup worked. The wooden structure below the foam slides out maybe 6" but I don't remember seeing the twin bed section with a back rest.

I'm getting ready to order new foam.
