1967 Overlander 26' Twin

Hello everyone, I am kinda new to the forums and would like some advice. Does anyone know how well built the 1967 AS Overlander Twin 26' is built? A neighbor has one for sale and it is in great condition, everything works and is original. Can someone give men a ballpark figure on what they are selling for? Is there anything that I have to be aware of with this year and model? Again, any information and advice would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks for your time and help.
Regards,
Bob

I'd price that in the $10k to $14k range . . . as low as $7-$8k would be a steal, $16k wouldn't be unfair either--depending on how good of shape it really is.

1967 was a good year

An important consideration is whether the floor is solid in the rear. It is possible that there have been leaks (possibly from the water heater) that have rotted the floor. Generally the fix for this is to remove the bathroom and replace the floor (not put a new floor down on top of the old floor because the floor is an integral part of the structure of the trailer).

Another consideration is whether the axles have been replaced.....if not, it is likely that you need two new axles....and then you could also upgrade to hydraulic brakes.

These things are fixable, you just need to really check this out. Perhaps you can find an inspector in your area to help you with determining the value of this trailer......good luck and hope it works out for you. We are having a 68 Ambassador rebuilt right now......we like the shape of those years trailers (66-68).....pj

If you know of someone that would pay $10,000.00 to $16,000.00 for a '67 AS, send 'em my way.

Good price?

Last month I purchased a 1965 26' Overlander in, I'll call it "good" condition. Everything inside is original, down to the bins in each compartment, oven/stovetop/refrigerator/AC all work, the bathroom was gutted and re-floored, new wood floors throughout, new beds, newly covered upholstery, and new propane tanks. I did replace the water heater (Atwood) and new water lines (PEX), the axles are old and I have ordered two new complete axles from INland RV. I paid $15,000. I have pics if anyone is interested in seeing them for price comparison. My wife thinks I paid too much, I hope she's not right... It is an awesome trailer!

1967 Airstream 26' Twin

Thanks everyone for your input and advice, it really gives me and my wife enough information to make an educated decision. We took a look at the AS trailer this morning and it would need alot of work, I believe the axiles need to be replaced which are the originals? They look old and rusty along with the 4 tires. Thanks again for taking out the time to respond to our concerns and questions. Take care and safe travels.
Regards,
Bob
