Trying to get the total cost of initial ownership. I have selected a new 22FB Sport. In addition to the initial purchase price what other costs should I expect in order to travel comfortably?

First, welcome to Air Forums. Lots of good information here.

The biggest cost of ownership is in such things like fuel, fees for parks, tow vehicle (TV) expenses, insurance, taxes, and of course the depreciation factor when one either grades or sells the unit. And, these are all quite variable.

What TV do you have? How many miles will you be towing each year? Where are you planning on going?

Maintenance on an Airstream, new, is not very high but a lot of us find all sorts of things to change....

Anyway, we will see who adds to the confusion shortly as far as cost of ownership is concerned.

As to your question, you will need certain RV specific equipment. You will need sewer hoses, black tank chemicals, and RV toilet paper. You will also need a fresh water hose, some coax cable for cable television hook-ups at campgrounds. You cane get set up with all these things for under $200.

Most everything that you will need for inside the trailer can come household items that you already have at home. Things like dishes, towels, blankets, and other kitchenware can be borrowed from home.
