Penguin install drain kit

When I did the insulation and wiring I installed wiring and a drain tube to the AC opening. Instructions call for a 14 1/4 inch square opening. That extra 1/4 inch is important. The air dam rail on the bottom needs that extra clearance. 14 inch won't do it . Location of the drain tube needs thought. I put mine on the aft street side and it conflicts with the air dam insert. I had to put the hose thru the dam because I had installed the kit as received with the T fitting on the street side. It should have been on the other side to make a smoother install. Fitting the dam in the rail as the unit is tightened in is a pain. The additional gaskets raise the entire unit to a height I don't like. Compared to my Carrier and Mach 8 units it is not a pleasing look. Lets hope it works well

Hey Robin - you can always go back to the drain pan. I have to say, one of the most common warranty claims I see on new factory units is condensation running off the trailer. I did this kit on one vintage trailer and the owner had me remove it and replace it with the pan because they didn't like the height.

The bath is problematic....

Rebuilding the bath. First, get rid of all the old stinky wood and cheap plastic. I am using a stainless bowl and making it into a round sink.....the old plastic one was crap. I am planning to do something new for me.....a stainless bath/toilet area.

Safety

I hate step ladders. This one broke when I was up working on the Cloud. The ladder brace pulled thru the fiberglass leg and the whole thing collapsed. I am so lucky I did not really get hurt. Let my accident be a warning to you all.

Wow!! I would never think that would happen. I have that same brand of ladder & will certainly be aware! I think the company deserves a phone call on that one! Glad you're not hurt

This is taking wayyy to long.

All these simple jobs are way to complicated. The stainless sink is a repurposed stainless bowl. The plumbing is all vega-pex. The walls are dark red Zolatone inside the bath.

First week of December....

A week to begin the process of installing all the woodwork and the systems. I am all bent over from putting the entire electrical System in under the booth seat forward and the water system under the booth seat aft. I did have to break off and put a new water heater in the Flying Cloud. Making sliding wood doors for the overhead cabinets and mounting the remaining cabinet doors mid cabin.

Stunning attention to detail, I love the warmth of the wood color mixed with the trim.

Christmas Eve almost finished

Worked all day with some mysterious problems and systems checks. I will talk about the electrical mystery later...it is a good lesson.
The stainless bath is in final stages...in the meantime I think it is done.

Just beautiful. Your finished wood work always reminds me of a really old B&B I stayed in on the outskirts of Chester (England). Supposed to have been an 18th century vickerage (sp?) and all the paneling was original, aged and waxed to a shine. They even burned peat in the main room's fireplace for the atmosphere (not to mention the smell). The floors all creaked like hell, but were beautiful.

I love your newest Airstream creation, and think Bruce should put in a high bid right away, as a surprise for Roseann, who is already drooling.

Merry Christmas!!
