Voltage booster protection

What have y’all used to protect the expensive voltage booster from the rain/sleet/ice?

I bought the Hughes autoformer 50 amp booster because my hunting camp has such voltage variance. But it is not water proof and the warranty does not cover water damage.

Set it up on a milk crate or something similar. Cover with a trash bag and bungy around the crate.

That’s sound perfect and inexpensive! It doesn’t generate enough heat in closed like that?

I put mine on something to raise it up a little then cover the post and autoformer with a collapsible trash can. I use the autoformer occasionally, usually in the summer at small parks when I see low voltage.

Mine is a 50 amp and it doesn't generate noticeable heat. Main thing is to get it off the ground so no water intrusion. A trash bag or trash can, anything to shield from the elements including intense sun would be beneficial. You won't be able to see the lights but it really doesn't matter or at least it hasn't to me. A transparent container would do the same thing. Just make sure the autoformer is elevated off the ground.
