trailer camera Chevrolet Silverado 2020
Hi
I have a Chevrolet Silverado 2020
And I have a trailer
And I want to put a camera in the trailer
And in the new Silverado it can be connected to the vehicle's multimedia system via two connections near the towing hook
I am looking for such a connection without a camera and cable
Connection / adapter only
Thanks

If your truck has the right option, which it would if you have the two camera connections above the 7-pin connection for the trailer, you need to purchase the hardwired camera that GMC sells. The camera in the trailer, as opposed to behind the trailer, would plug into the camera connection on the left, and you would need to run the cable from inside the trailer to that connection point.

There should be two receptacles directly next to where you plug the trailer in. If those are not present, the truck does not have that option available. One of the plug-ins is for the outside transparent camera, and the other is for the inside the trailer camera.
With the proper GM cameras, the images can be selected and viewed on the big screen on the dash of the truck.

Here is what the hook-ups look like.

When GM announced theses cameras a few years ago, they cited the example of a horse trailer where the driver might like to keep an eye on the livestock inside.
I'm not sure what value one would derive from seeing the inside of an RV when going down the road. By the time you may observe something falling or water shooting everywhere, it's already happened.

If you see the fridge opened and dumped the contents you could stop and put the stuff that didn't spill back in the fridge/freezer before it spoiled.

I hadn't thought of that. My bladder makes me stop every two hours so I don't think I need that option but it makes sense for those that can drive 6 hours straight. Or maybe a strip of tape on the refrigerator door if the latch is getting old.

zombie thread back from the dead
I'm just starting to head down this path myself. I have a 2021 silverado LTZ, which supposedly has the ability to integrate things.
Anyone know anything about this camera?
