I recently installed a Siren Marine security system on our trawler and it occurs to me that this would be an interesting addition to our Airstream too.
The ability to see that shore power is connected and on, the interior temperature of the rig and if a door has opened along with the geofencing (it would be good to know if someone where stealing your rig!) that is available with the base unit is all of interest to me.
The system is not inexpensive to purchase but it is child’s play to install. They offer wireless sensors that make additional options a quick addition. Of course you must pay a monthly, seasonal or yearly subscription fee for the service but the peace of mind might be worth it if you worry the way I do.
System notifications on my watch and phone tell me of anything I want to be made aware of and it all works perfectly.
I have no idea if there are competing systems out there.
Just thought I’d pass the idea along.
The picture is a screen capture of the app on my phone. Obviously with an airstream you wouldn’t need a bilge alarm but you get the idea!
